真打ちジョン・レノン・カジノ、70本限定発売

Epiphoneから、USA John Lennon Casinoが特別パッケージにて70本のみ生産される。これは日本限定発売だ。

ジョン・レノンの70歳の誕生日を記念して登場したこのカジノは、1960年代のカラマズー・ファクトリーのものを完全再現した気合の入った作品で、その正式名称はEpiphone“70th Anniversary”Commemorative John Lennon Casino Package。Vintage SunburstとLennon Naturalの2カラーがそれぞれ35本ずつ生産される。もちろんそれぞれに限定70本中何本目かを示すシリアルが打たれるが、VSは偶数、LNは奇数という、ちょっと珍しい遊び心のある仕様となっているようだ。

Vintage SunburstカラーのCasinoは、まさにジョン・レノン、ジョージ・ハリスン、そしてポール・マッカートニーがビートルズ時代に購入し、数々の名曲を生み出した伝説のギターを忠実に再現したもの。世界一有名なカジノであると同時に、カジノの人気を決定付けた立役モデルでもある。そして、Lennon NaturalカラーのCasinoは、ジョン・レノンが後年そのVintage Sunburstフィニッシュをはがし、さらなる音楽史に残る名作を生み出すこととなったものを再現したモデルとなる。

今回登場したJohn Lennon Casinoは、いずれも12フレット目にジョン・レノンの誕生日（1940年10月9日）が刻印され、ハードケースにはジョン・レノンのアートワークがプリントされている。ジョン・レノンの写真と共にオノ・ヨーコ直筆サイン入りの認定書や、ブラック・ノブと3枚のLennon特製ギター・ピックなどが付属アイテムとなる。

なお、今回の売上げの一部は、The BMI Foundation,IncのJohn Lennon Scholarship Fundに寄付され、音楽教育のサポート機関に寄与することになる。
