「意味がわからない、けど売れた」曲トップ10

UK/アイルランドの音楽ストリーミング・サービスBlinkbox Musicが、「最も不可解な歌詞を持つ曲は？」との一般投票を行ったところ、ザ・キラーズの2008年のヒット曲「Human」が30％もの票を集め1位に選ばれたという。

作家ハンター・S・トンプソンの言葉にインスパイアされた「Are we human, or are we dancer」のところに「???」と感じたミュージック・ファンが多かった。

続いて、ザ・キラーズの「Human」が出る前に「意味不明No.1」だったザ・ビートルズの「I Am The Walrus」が2位に。投票に参加した2,000人の27％の票を集めた。

4位に登場したライオネル・リッチーの「All Night Long（All Night）」は、かつてリッチー自身、「ワンダフル・ジョークだった」と認めている。

『Daily Mirror』紙が意見を求めたグラスゴー大学のマーティン・クルーナン教授（ポピュラー・ミュージック・ポリティックス専攻）は、「Human」や「I Am The Walrus」「Earth Song」には理解を示し解釈しつつも、ブラック・アイド・ピーズの「Boom Boom Pow」にいたっては途方に暮れ、「ときに我々は、ソングライターは変わってると受け入れなくてはならないんだと思う」と話したという。
