デュラン・デュラン、『イーグルス・オブ・デス・メタルをNo.1に』運動を支援

仏連続襲撃事件でコンサート会場が標的となり、多くのファンが犠牲となったイーグルス・オブ・デス・メタルへの支援を表し、彼らの曲をUKシングル・チャートの1位にしようというキャンペーン＜EODM for UK No.1＞がFacebookでスタートした。

これは、「バンドや犠牲者への支援と平和への願いを表明する」ため、イーグルス・オブ・デス・メタルのファンが立ち上げたもの。バンドが最新アルバム『Zipper Down』に収録したデュラン・デュランの「Save A Prayer」のカヴァーをダウンロードしたりストリーミングしようと呼びかけている。

これを知ったデュラン・デュランは、このセールスにより自分たちに入る印税を寄付すると申し出た。フロントマンのサイモン・ル・ボンは月曜日（11月16日）、「@EODMforNo1 @DuranDuranは僕らに入る予定の収益全てを寄付する。役に立ち、平和的かつ一体感があるものを選択肢として考慮する」とツィートした。

デュラン・デュランは先月、英国のTV番組でイーグルス・オブ・デス・メタルと一緒に「Save A Prayer」をプレイしていた。

UKのチャートを集計するOfficial Chartsによると、このキャンペーンにより同曲はトップ100内にチャート・インし、現在、急上昇中だという。最新チャートは金曜日夕方（現地時間）に発表される。
