ファットボーイ・スリム、サンプリングの元ネタのコンピレーション発売

Fatboy Slim（本名Norman Cook）が、今までの作品のサンプリングで使用したオリジナル曲を集めたコンピレーションアルバムを発売する。全16曲の『A Break From The Norm』は、英国のレーベル、Gut Recordsとの共同企画としてRestless Recordsから6月5日に米国発売される。

収録曲は“Praise You”に使用されたCamille Yarbroughの“Take Yo' Praise”や、“Rockafeller Skank”で使用のJust Brothersの“Sliced Tomatoes”、“Right Here, Right Now”に使ったJames Gangの“Ashes The Rain & I”など。

アルバムのライナーノーツでCookはこう記している。
「自分の曲で使用するために、時には残酷に切り刻んだりしてしまった曲が、こういうふうに元の純粋な形で紹介されるのを喜んでいます。特に、今回収録されているCamille、Bill Withers、Just Brothersの曲などは、昔からのCook家お気に入りの定番ナンバーです」
