イン・シンク、クリスティーナ・アギレラ、エミネム、デスティニーズ・チャイルドらがBlockbuster Awardsを受賞
4月10日（火）にロサンゼルスのShrine AuditoriumでBlockbuster Awards授賞式が開催された。今回、音楽部門で一番の人気振りを見せたのは'N Syncで、Favourite CD（人気アルバム）、Favourite Single（人気シングル）、Favourite Pop Group（人気ポップ・グループ）を受賞した。
Christina Aguilera、Eminem、Destiny's Childは各2部門を受賞。AguileraはFemale Artist of the Year（年間最優秀女性アーティスト）とFavourite Latino Artist（人気ラテン・アーティスト）、EminemはFavourite Male Artist of the Year（年間最優秀男性アーティスト）とFavourite Rap Artist（人気ラップ・アーティスト）、Destiny's ChildはFavourite Group of the Year（年間最優秀グループ）とFavourite R & B Group（人気R & Bグループ）を受賞した。Destiny's Childのヒットシングル“Independent Women Part 1”が収録されているサウンドトラック『Charlie's Angels』もFavourite Soundtrack（人気サウンドトラック）を受賞している。
授賞式では、何組かのアーティストがライヴを披露した。Creedはヒット曲“Higher”（『Human Clay』収録）を演奏、Ricky Martinが“Loaded”（『Sound Loaded』収録）を聴かせ、LeAnn Rimesは、受賞曲となった“Can't Fight The Moonlight”（サウンドトラック『Coyote Ugly』収録）を披露、Stevie NicksとSheryl Crowは“Fall From Grace”で共演した。
Blockbuster Awardsは、一般投票で行なわれるものとしては、世界でも最も大きな賞のひとつである。過去一年間における映画、音楽、ビデオの各分野での活躍を表して贈られるもので、今年は60の部門に2200万以上の票が投じられた。4月10日（火）に開催された第7回Blockbuster Awards授賞式の模様は、4月11日（水）夜にFoxテレビで放映された。
